The Architectural CADD Technician I Certificate of Achievement prepares students to work in the field of Architecture as a CADD drafter. Students will be knowledgeable in Revit and AutoCAD software and understand the basics of producing construction documents using both Revit and AutoCAD. Students will have a conceptual knowledge of 3-D modeling and rendering. Students will also be able to perform print reading tasks as they relate to commercial and residential architecture. To acquire the Architectural CADD Technician I Certificate of Achievement, it is necessary to complete the following: 18 units including ENGD 101, ENGD 103, ARCH 108, ENGD 110, ENGD210, ARCH 250.
Enrollment Completer Projections is 25 students annually.

- Certificate of Achievement: 16 or greater semester (or 24 or greater quarter) units (C)
The Architectural CADD Technician I Certificate of Achievement can lead to employment in the AEC (Architectural/Engineering/Construction) and Design industries, and Public Works/Utilities. The program includes applications such as BIM (Building Information Modeling), CADD (Computer Assisted Design and Drafting), LEED(Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design), 3D Printing, and traditional drafting methods and standards. This program is not designed to fulfill requirements for transfer to a university in Architecture. For Baccalaureate or advanced degrees, see admission and transfer requirements for individual colleges and universities. Student Learning Outcomes (SLO) 1. Given various visual communication technologies such as traditional drafting, CADD and BIM (Building Information Modeling) with industry standards such as AIA and AEC(Architectural, Engineering and Construction), Graphic Standards and the Building Code, successful students will be able to effectively communicate graphically and understand and interpret design concepts and criteria for various disciplines related to the AEC industry. 2. Upon completion of the program successful students are prepared for industry employment and advancement within a variety of related AEC professions. Further, students are prepared to transfer to advanced fields of study in related occupations. To acquire the Architectural CADD Technician I Certificate of Achievement, it is necessary to complete the following: 18 units including ENGD 101, ENGD 103, ARCH 108, ENGD 110, ENGD 210, ARCH 250. NOTE: Students interested in transferring as architecture majors should consult with a counselor for appropriate general education & major preparation counseling.
