The Commercial Music – Performance certificate of achievement consistsof comprehensive curriculum that provides students with a solid foundation inmusic theory, composition, performance, technology, production, and business.This program offers a unique blend of the art of music and the discipline ofbusiness. Students can participate in traditional music courses such asindividual applied music lessons and performing ensembles, while immersingthemselves in music technology. Graduates of the Commercial Music – Performancedegree may move into all facets of the music and entertainment industries.
To earn the certificate ofachievement, students must complete each of the required courses with a “C”grade or higher.

The goal of the Commercial Music – Performance certificate program provide students with a comprehensive curriculum including education in music theory, composition, performance, technology, production, and business. DVC has a robust Music Industry Studies (commercial music) program, as well as a transfer program. This new program blends these two in a way that is responsive to changes in the art of music and the discipline of business. Graduates of the Commercial Music – Performance degree may move into all facets of the music and entertainment industries.
