Catalog Description

This program is designed to prepare T-TEN students for employment as an automotive Air Conditioning system diagnostic specialist. Course work includes theory and operation of HVAC systems, the use of test instruments, refrigerant recycling and skill competency in HVAC system diagnosis and repair. The program will provide the student the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills demanded of the modern Toyota/Lexus automotive HVAC system specialist. To earn a certificate, complete the required courses as listed with a minimum grade of C or better. 100% of all course work must be completed at Cypress College. This certificate requires a total of 18 units.

Program Requirements Narrative

This certificate supports the Toyota T-TEN student's achievement in demonstrating their knowledge and hands-on proficiency with both the ASE Education Foundation Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems used in non-hybrid, hybrid and electric vehicles using the T-TEN certified curriculum. These skills and passing of the related ASE certification test, A7 Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning,  demonstrate to the employer that the student is ready to work as an entry level technician on these systems.
