Currently, the CAOT department offers five Certificates of Achievement. We are in the process of including; the Business Information Worker I Certificate. This additional certificate will enable students to begin the BIW Pathway in developing their job-skills that will lead to entry-level employment. It is expected that all the core courses would be offered annually. At least one section of each of the major requirements are projected to be offered every semester with an enrollment at approximately 35 students in each section. Recruitment will be conducted within the existing CAOT students’ populations, along with a strong marketing strategy to (1) LACC students who are undecided on their majors, (2) potential students within the communities at large, and (3) potential students identified through work-based partnerships. It is estimated that by the first year, 5-10 students will complete the Business Information Worker I Certificate of Achievement. As the BIW I program becomes more familiar, the number of certificate completers will increase to 15-20 by year five.
