Catalog Description

The non-transfer Certificate in Game Development is designed to prepare students for entry into careers associated with game development, game design, 3D animation, 3D modeling, and digital prototyping. This program specifically provides students with a strong foundation in artistic development, professional processes, verbal and visual creativity, and accountability in individual and team interactions. As part of the Digital Media program, internships and special projects are also available. For individuals currently working within these fields, there may be potential for salary and/or career advancement.

Program Goal

Under Career Education, the Digital Media program (Top Code:0614) provides the comprehensive skills necessary for successful employment in the digital media fields and related industries. Training received with completion of this certificate provides knowledge and experience in a booming digital industry. By completing this certificate, students will develop highly transferable skills in collaboration, critical thinking, and creative problem solving, which are sought after by employers and industry professionals alike. Students will demonstrate knowledge in a tailored skillset that caters to the hirable skills required by the game development industry. The goal of the Digital Media program is to prepare students for an entry level position in the digital media industries mentioned above. Working with current software and simulated scenarios teach students about job opportunities, best practices, and professional strengths and weaknesses that can be improved upon throughout their education journey and into their careers.
