Agriculture is a broad multidisciplinary field of study that spans production and processing of food and fiber, including animal production and crop production, and soil cultivation. Agriculture scientists study foundations of science, chemistry, math, and applied production practices that translate to real-world applications of growing food.
The Agriculture Science A.S. degree is designed to prepare students to transfer to the UC (University of California) system in programs such as Animal Science, Animal Biology, Animal Science & Management, Agriculture and Environmental Education, Agricultural & Environmental Technology, International Agricultural Development, and Plant Biology. Students should meet with a counselor to discuss any additional requirements for their major of interest.

This Agriculture Science Associate in Science has been designed at Woodland Community College to address agriculture breadth preparation for Transfer to the UC System.
Program Learning Outcomes:
1. Identify and apply the basic principles of science to the field of agriculture.
2. Demonstrate scientific evaluation skills including interpreting graphs and data from scientific papers.
The Agriculture Department and Agriculture Science Associate in Science Student Learning Outcomes are consistent with the mission of Woodland Community College, to provide high-quality education that fosters student success and lifelong learning opportunities in an environment that values diversity, individuality, mutual respect, civic responsibility, and free exchange of ideas.
