Leadership Studies

The goal of this program is to enhance individual and organizational effectiveness of managers and leaders in a business environment, and to prepare students to assume leadership positions in business, or to advance into leadership and management positions if they are incumbent workers.  Students will develop personal leadership skills, study ethical dimensions of leadership, understand how leadership affects people, organizations, and society, and articulate and apply their own philosophy of leadership in their careers and lives.

The program requires that students complete all of the required classes listed below with a grade of “C” or better.  Grades of “CR” or “P” will be accepted “CR” or “P” as equivalent to a  “C”.  At least 3 units in an advanced course from the certificate must be completed at OCC.  Other classes from OCC or another institution may be substituted for one or more of the required classes at the department’s discretion.
