The program provides students with foundational knowledge and hands-on practice across multiple programming paradigms and languages. Through coursework in HyperText Markup Language (HTML) and PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor, Java, Python, and core programming language concepts, students develop essential skills in web development, problem-solving, data structures, and object-oriented programming. This certificate helps to prepare students for entry-level roles in software and web development or for continued study in advanced programming and computer science pathways. It is also part of the stackable certificate series for our dual enrollment students.

The program is designed to provide students with foundational knowledge in computer science and hands-on experience in software development. The program introduces core programming concepts using Java, JavaScript, and Python, while familiarizing students with the software development lifecycle and essential computing principles. The program helps to prepare students for entry-level programming roles or further study in software development by building practical problem-solving and coding skills aligned with industry expectations.
