Catalog Description

This certificate prepares students for an exciting career as an Equipment Technician. Production agriculture is highly dependent on machines like tractors, harvesters and other specialized pieces of equipment to grow and harvest the food and fiber we use on a daily basis. Students in this program will learn about Diesel Engines, Power Transmissions, Hydraulics, Welding, Fuel and Emission Systems, Air Conditioning Systems, Electrical Systems, Troubleshooting and Diagnostics. This program focuses on the skills and theory entry level technicians need to maintain and repair equipment used in agriculture. Students will learn these skills in a combination of lecture and laboratory experiences that not only provide the knowledge but the skills required by industry. This program will also incorporate training from OEM's (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to give graduates a competitive edge in the workforce. Tools for laboratory work are provided at no cost to students.
