Catalog Description
Future CPAs have amazing career prospects in three main areas: public accounting, private accounting, and government/non-profit accounting. CPA Candidates must posses any Bachelor's degree and must satisfy specific educational requirements (see the CalCPA website). All of these accounting educational requirements (150 hour rule) can be completed at Cabrillo College after the candidates completes their BA/BS degree. The classes within this certificate are counted towards the educational requirement for the CPA license. Learning Outcome: 1. To provide students with the necessary classes to comply with California Board of Accountancy Regulations section 9.2(b) which states applicants for a CPA license in California, who do not complete a master’s degree in accounting, taxation or laws in taxation, are required to complete a minimum of 24 semester units, or the equivalent in quarter units, selected from the following accounting subjects: accounting, auditing, financial reporting, external or internal reporting, financial statement analysis or taxation.
