Catalog Description

This certificate is designed to familiarize students with the tools and techniques that are needed to establish, cultivate, and oversee customer relationships in today’s digital atmosphere. The following courses (24 units) are required for the social media certificate. Students who successfully complete the certificate requirements may apply the skills that are developed during this program for their own businesses or may apply this knowledge for a position in an entry-level position or as a social media, advertising, or promotion specialist position.

Program Requirements Narrative

The mission of Antelope Valley Community College District is to serve to community and have students ready for the workforce. Marketing has been a growing field and requires students to use social media, create content and use online and software tools to be successful in this field.  This certificate will show students the different marketing strategies, Internet platforms, and understanding of understanding customers or clients by understanding analytics and customer personas. 

Students will complete 24 units, 18 of the units are required coursework and 6 units are program electives.
