Catalog Description

This is an apprenticeship certificate program that will focus on preparing students in entering careers in animation, visual effects (VFX) and other entertainment technologies industries in a real production setting. Students will participate in the design, production and postproduction of real client based projects. Students need to have prior basic knowledge in some of the aspects of animation and VFX visual development, production and post-production.

Enrollment Completer Projections

Due to the nature of the program, we won't have a large enrollment. Enrollment numbers will be based on two factors:

- amount of available space in computer labs (capped at 24/lab)

- project requirements (each client project will require different amount of resources and participants)

Since we will be targeting smaller size client based projects for this Apprenticeship courses, we believe that each one of the courses/projects will require 5-10 students. There will be several concurrent projects that will be assigned to any of the 3 different Apprenticeship courses, therefore we project an enrollment of 15 to 30 students per year.

Program Goal

The ultimate goal of the program is to reach a wider pool of students with more diverse backgrounds and allowing them to acquire practical skills and experience to get started in the animation, vfx and technical entertainment industries.

Most Students will come out of the program with a professional demo reel that will afford them a more direct path to employment by becoming more proficient and increasing their level of expertise. With this Apprenticeship, our objective is to remove existing roadblocks to access trainning opportunities and practical experience in the animation and VFX pathway.
