The Automotive Electric Vehicle Technician Certificate of Achievement provides students with training on emerging technologies in the automotive industry. Advanced training in electric vehicle propulsion systems, hybrid propulsion, alternative fuel technology, autonomous vehicle system, electric vehicle infrastructure, and advanced electrical diagnostics will be covered in the required courses. Students will be qualified to take the related ASE certification exams upon completion of this program. This certificate prepares students for careers such as Automotive Hybrid Technician, Automotive Electric Vehicle Technician, Automotive CNG/LPG Vehicle Technician, or General Automotive Technician. Ideal for the small business owner, independent shop, or the dealership career-oriented technician.

Program Goal

The curriculum in the Automotive Electric Vehicle Technician Certificate of Achievement is designed to prepare the student for entry into the specialized field of alternative fuel, full electric, autonomous vehicle systems, and hybrid vehicles. This certificate prepares students for a career in the automotive industry. The certificate covers hybrid/electric systems ,safety around high voltage systems, component identification, electrical system diagnostics, high voltage diagnostics, autonomous vehicle systems, and alternative fueled control systems. Students who successfully complete the requirements for Automotive Electric Vehicle Technician Certificate will be able to perform basic automotive maintenance, diagnosis, service operations of hybrid & electric vehicles, and be immediately productive on the job.
