Catalog Description

The Chemical and Materials Engineering Technology degree program concentrates on the application of chemistry in an industrial setting through the study of design principles, contextualized problem-solving, engineering materials, applied mechanics and industry standard tools.  The Level 2 certificate will prepare students for multiple technologist positions, including test technician, engineering technician, quality control technician, lab technician, and process analyst.

The Chemical and Materials Engineering Technology, Level 2 certificate has the Chemical and Materials Engineering, Level 1 certificate as a prerequisite; and includes 18 additional units of electives from the following list: ENGR 6, ENGR 7, ENGR 40, ENGR 40T, ENGR 285, PHYS 4B, CHEM 20, and CHEM 80.
