Studentswho complete the Optical Technology Certificate Contact Lens/Dispensing Programwill be qualified to adapt and fit corrective eye wear, as prescribed byophthalmologists or optometrists; to assist patients in selecting appropriatecontact lenses; and to prepare work orders for ophthalmic laboratorytechnicians. Includes instruction in geometrical optics, ophthalmic optics,anatomy of the eye, prescription interpretation, contact lens adaptation andfitting, and prosthesis fitting, facial and eye measuring.
