The Games and Playable Media coursework prepares you for entry-level roles in the video games industry and related fields. This certificate in Games and Playable Media Foundations covers essential skills and knowledge for getting started on a game design pathway and allows you to select additional courses to develop skills to work in a specific role on a game development team. All of the courses included in this certificate also fulfill requirements for the Games and Playable Media Associates degree.

Program Goals:
This certificate is the first in a planned series of stackable certificates that will prepare students for a career in Games and Playable Media. The stackable certificates will feed into an AS in Games and Playable Media. This particular certificate focuses on the Game Art and Animation track. The certificate supports students entering into Game Art and Animation, which there is market demand for per the LMI.
Program Objectives:
Students completing this degree will develop foundational skills in game design as well as advanced skills in design, art, programming, or production.
