The Business Marketing Certificate of Achievement is an entry-level program designed for individuals looking to build foundational skills in marketing and digital promotion. Whether aspiring to work in a marketing department, launch a freelance business, or enhance their understanding of business promotion, students will gain the essential knowledge to successfully market products, services, and brands in today's competitive landscape.
10-15 students are projected to earn this certificate annually.

The goal of this program is to increase students’ employability and effectiveness by providing a stackable certificate linked to occupation needs of the industry, specifically digital marketing needs.

The Business Marketing Certificate of Achievement was developed in response to growing employer demand for marketing professionals skilled in digital marketing, social media, and visual content creation. Small businesses, entrepreneurs, and marketing agencies increasingly seek candidates with real-world experience in content development, audience engagement, and brand storytelling.
By offering a stackable, transcriptable certificate, Napa Valley College is providing students with a pathway into marketing careers while supporting the local business community with trained professionals.

The courses in this certificate are shared with other programs in Business and Entrepreneurship Department. The department currently offers enough sections of all courses to meet the anticipated enrollments and applications for this certificate. The department does not anticipate a large increase in enrollments as a result of this new/modified certificate; however, it will better serve the needs and interests of the current student population at NVC. This certificate will be housed in the Business and Entrepreneurship Department, a part of the Division of Career Education & Workforce Development at NVC. This department currently covers all courses and programs in Business and Entrepreneurship Department.
Several community colleges in the Bay Area offer marketing or business-related certificates, but Napa Valley College’s program is uniquely positioned with a focus on digital marketing, photography, and social media.
