Catalog Description

This Certificate of Achievement prepares students for employment in paraprofessional counseling, crisis intervention services, and psycho-education group facilitation.

Program Outcomes

  1. Evaluate processes of sexual development as well as articulate biased and discriminatory attitudes and behaviors pertaining to marginalized sexual identity groups.
  2. Demonstrate effective group facilitation skills
  3. Design comprehensive treatment plans using sound assessment and diagnostic information as well as coordinate, monitor, and document services
  4. Demonstrate basic counseling and motivational interviewing skills and the methods structuring the helping relationship
