Goal of Program

CTE

Include any other information you would like to share.
The Network Support Specialist program at EVC was designed to help address the large labor market gap with 3,693 annual openings for the Network Support Specialist occupational cluster and 208 annual (3 year-average) awards for an annual undersupply of 3,485 students.
Please list similar programs at other colleges in the service area which may be impacted, including the name of the college, the name of the program that may be impacted, the name of the person you contacted and the outcome of that contact.
While there are 15 community colleges in the Bay region issuing 208 awards annually (last 3 years) on TOP 0708.10 Computer Networking, and 71 awards in the Silicon Valley sub-region, EVC does not anticipate our program having a negative impact on surrounding programs given the abundancy of employment opportunities in the region. EVC is part of the Amazon Web Service (AWS) seven colleges in the Bay Area to work on the data center administrator technician occupation path. EVC has a direct MOU with PureStorage data center for a direct internship/apprenticeship for the students in the Network Support Specialist certificate and degree.
