The Bachelor of Science in Automotive Technology Management is designed to help prepare students for a career in management within the automotive industry. Industry opportunities include parts and service management, finance management, sales management, fleet management, and general management.
The ideal candidate would have an AS degree in automotive technology, but plans are available for students who want to get started with a four-year pathway. 180 units from combined lower and upper division courses are required for graduation.
Automotive Technology Management expects a minimum of 15 students in the first cohort, and at least that many in subsequent cohorts.

The proposed on-line bachelor’s degree will offer students the opportunity for personal growth within the automotive industry by helping to fill the management needs of dealerships, fleets, municipalities, and independent repair shops. This proposed degree will also contribute to the mission of economic growth and global competitiveness that guides California Community Colleges. Students will learn competencies in automotive management, communication, human resources, leadership, the environment, and professionalism.
Designed for students who have completed all the automotive related courses (about 40 qtr/27 sem units or more) at any California Community College or at a regionally accredited institution of higher education and have completed general education requirements. Ideally, students would already have an AS degree in Auto Tech.

There are no other colleges in our service area that offer a similar bachelor's degree. The closest college with a bachelor's degree in automotive technology is Rio Hondo College in Whittier, California. All local UC and CSU colleges have been contacted as evidenced by our Substantive Change approval.
