The Certificate of Achievement in Cloud Computing Administration provides a foundation in technical skills that are in great demand across all industries. Cloud computing presents a change in information technology and computer networking, as it enables organizations to access the computing services of worldwide data centers via the Internet. Cloud computing is being rapidly adopted in all sectors, which has led to high demand for a workforce prepared to deploy, secure, and troubleshoot cloud-based infrastructure services across IT systems. This program includes curriculum from CompTIA Cloud+, Microsoft Azure, and Amazon AWS.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

  • Evaluate different models of Cloud computing.
  • Design and build cloud systems based on IT business needs, costs, and workloads.
  • Deploy and configure cloud services on a variety of platforms, including Microsoft Azure and AWS.
  • Implement security and compliance measures on commonly used cloud platforms.
  • Troubleshoot cloud services and provide support in an IT setting.

The goals of the Certificate of Achievement – Cloud Computing Administration is directed at the appropriate level for community colleges and is a consistent statewide pathway designed with industry involvement to prepare students for entry-level jobs, and to inform business of the rich capabilities that exist at every California Community College Campus. This program addresses a valid occupational role, that of Cloud Administrator position. The program is designed to provide students with the skills to meet employers’ needs. Both students entering the workforce and incumbent employees desiring entry-level Cloud Administrator and systems support knowledge will benefit from this program.

The Certificate of Achievement – Cloud Computing Administration is designed to prepare students for entry-level Cloud Administrator and systems support in a variety of job positions.  Students are trained in entry-level Cloud Computing Administration skills as well as critical thinking, problem solving, and interpersonal skills to provide greater efficiency in the workplace.

The Certificate of Achievement – Cloud Computing Administration continues to go through assessment and modification cycles periodically. There are no other departments in the college offering similar curriculum.

Given the main objective of CCSF’s Certificate of Achievement – Cloud Computing Administration, to provide students with foundational knowledge and skills desirable for further specialized study in the field of Cloud Computing Administration.
