Catalog Description

The courses listed in the Automotive Underhood Service and Repair certificate are selected to provide a competent level of job skills needed for a technician specializing in underhood maintenance and light repair. The certificate is designed to prepare an individual for employment or provide the skills needed for career advancement in the automotive industry. This certificate prepares students for careers as a preventative maintenance technician, lube technician, A/C service technician, and technician apprentice. Students can enter into the program with no prior experience or education.

Program Requirements Narrative

Students completing the courses listed with a grade of C or better will earn the Automotive Underhood Service and Repair certificate. The courses are assembled to provide the necessary skills for a technician to service and repair areas under the hood of most cars and light trucks.
