This Program meets the minimum training requirements established by the California Emergency Medical Services Authority for Paramedic completion.  This Certificate is designed to help prepare students to become Paramedics in a field emergency medical setting.

Program Goal

The Public Safety Certificate of Achievement in Paramedic training is designed to prepare students to meet the needs of mid-level positions involved in responding to medical emergencies.  The curriculum prepares students with a foundation in medical training and provides them with the knowledge required to enter positions related to paramedic positions with local fire departments.  The skills developed in these classes will enhance the student's knowledge in the area of emergency medicine including emergency medical service systems, patient assessment, emergency response to crisis, anatomy and physiology for emergency health personnel, and clinical and field training standards and policies.
