Projected Start Date

Catalog Description
The Personal Trainer Certificate program provides students with the skills and knowledge needed to prepare them for employment within the fitness industry. Students will gain an understanding of the physiology of exercise, fitness assessment procedures and methodologies, sports nutrition, treating activity-related injuries, and designing exercise programs. The program includes a hands-on experience with an exercise population. This certification also prepares students for industry standard personal trainer examinations, such as ACSM, NSCA, and NASM.
Enrollment Completer Projections
According to current student counts it is estimated that approximately 10 students will earn this certificate in Year 1, and 15 students in Year 2. We anticipate that the addition of this certificate will increase both the total number of students pursuing an associate degree in Kinesiology and/or certificate in Fitness Specialist. We project that enrollments in Kinesiology specific classes will continue to grow incrementally as students discover the clear value of this certificate to employers who are experiencing an increased demand for this type of professional preparation.
