The Entrepreneurship Marketing Certification is designed for undergraduate students interested in entrepreneurship and small business development and provides foundational marketing knowledge and practical skills needed to promote products, services, and ideas in entrepreneurial settings. The certification emphasizes real-world application by teaching students how to identify target markets, develop effective messaging, select appropriate marketing channels, and evaluate marketing outcomes, preparing them to make informed marketing decisions and apply structured, repeatable practices that support business sustainability. A grade of "C" or better in each course is required to receive the certificate of achievement.

The primary goal of an entrepreneurship marketing certification is to provide entrepreneurs with practical, usable marketing skills that directly support business survival and growth. Many founders rely on guesswork, inconsistent tactics, or outside agencies because they lack a clear understanding of how marketing functions in real-world conditions. This certification aims to replace trial-and-error decision-making with structured knowledge, enabling entrepreneurs to identify their target audience, communicate value clearly, and convert attention into revenue using repeatable methods.
A secondary goal of the certification is to give entrepreneurs ownership and control over their marketing efforts while building confidence and credibility. By focusing on execution rather than theory, the program bridges the gap between academic marketing concepts and actual business application. Participants learn to evaluate strategies, measure results, and adapt as needed, turning marketing into a controllable system instead of a recurring problem. The ultimate outcome is increased business sustainability through consistent, informed, and measurable marketing practices.

This work will support our Enrollment Management Plan of offering a greater range of micro certifications.
Most colleges in our area have these same courses. As far as my research has shown, we are the only ones with this proposed certificate.
