Catalog Description

The Electronics Technician I Certificate will satisfy industry standard requirements for entry-level technicians servicing/working with electronic devices such as; communication systems, avionics, control systems, robotics, mechatronics, microcontrollers, and coding.

Program Goal

Meeting with our industry advisory board, Electronics Technician I Certificate of achievement was requested from the department by General Atomics to satisfy their internship program with VVC Electronics Department. The certificate will be awarded to prospective interns after completing 20 units of Electronics and one CIS course. The certificate is one of two certificates requested by General Atomics. It will enable prospective interns to obtain permanent employment at GA after completing the certificate. The certificate will be open to GA inters and regular college students. It was requested after GA announced a strong demand for Electronics technicians in the High Desert Area to fulfill demand in the aviation industry with business growth at SCLA. It will enable VVC students to obtain employment as entry-level Electronics Technician in a wide variety of industries in the surrounding high desert.
