  • Certificate of Achievement: 16 or greater semester (or 24 or greater quarter) units (C)
Program Goal

The value of ag crops in SLO County reached over $1 billion in 2018 for the first time. Wine grapes and strawberries contribute to over half of that (26.65% and 25.92% respectively). These valuable farm operations need skilled managers to operate them. This certificate will equip farm managers with a strong foundation including plant, soil, water, business, management, and equipment operation/safety. Recent high school graduates, as well as current farm employees wanting to expand their career opportunities, are a good fit for this certificate.
