The Automotive Hybrid, Electric, and Alternative Fuel Technology Certificate is designed to introduce a student to the use of hybrid and electric power trains for vehicle propulsion. Topics will include safety when working with high voltage, theory of operation, power flow, hybrid battery technology, fuel cell technology, and preventative maintenance procedures. This program course work is suitable for students entering into the hybrid, electric, or alternative fuel technology field. This certificate requires a total of 23.5 units completed, all of which are required courses. A grade of C or better is required in each course taken.
