Program Proposal Attributes
- Certificate of Achievement: 16 or greater semester (or 24 or greater quarter) units (C)
The Certificate of Achievement in Industrial Technology and Fabrication prepares students for careers within a variety of industries. Through hands-on experiential learning and a curriculum designed to engage students in a variety of fabrication processes, students will be prepared to enter the growing industrial, manufacturing, and/or agribusiness sectors, which provide products and services related to production, processing, and distribution of numerous products.
Professionals in this industry bring strengths from the integration of science, applied technology and manufacturing. This program combines core concepts of fabrication with the additional skills and knowledge necessary to meet local industry needs and future trends. Computer skills, fluid power, measurements, and welding, machining and fabrication skills will allow students to be prepared for careers as industrial engineering technologists, technicians, assemblers and fabricators. Career opportunities are expected to be strong, with relatively low risk of automation.
