Chemical and Materials Engineering Technology Level 1

The Chemical and Materials Engineering Technology degree program concentrates on the application of chemistry in an industrial setting through the study of design principles, contextualized problem-solving, engineering materials, applied mechanics and industry standard tools.  Become qualified for multiple technologist positions, including engineering technician, quality control technician, lab technician, and process analyst.

1. ability to apply knowledge, techniques, skills and modern tools of mathematics, science, engineering, and technology to solve well-defined engineering problems appropriate to the discipline;
2. an ability to apply written, oral, and graphical communication in well-defined technical and non-technical environments; and an ability to identify and use appropriate technical literature;
3. an ability to conduct standard tests, measurements, and experiments and to analyze and interpret the results; and
4. an ability to function effectively as a member of a technical team.

The Chemical and Materials Engineering Technology, Level 1 certificate includes 5 courses [20-21 units] and has the Engineering Technology Fundamentals certificate as a prerequisite.
