This program will prepare students in areas of design, technology, digital skills, drawing, delineation and rendering, structures, history, and professional practice.

Enrollment Completer Projections

Most recently in academic year, 2019-2020, four completed the Associate Degree in Architecture. Enrollment is steady despite cuts the last four years in our classes. In academic year 2019-2020, we had 220 students enrolled in the Architecture Program.  We expect that program completion will increase following the trend in the last four years and adjustments we made in course selections.

Program Goal

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

  • Develop architectural graphics using digital and analog tools that communicate design intentions and document construction requirements.

The Architecture major is 36 units. To graduate from CCSF with an Associate in Science (AS) degree, students must complete CCSF general education and major requirements with a minimum of 60 degree-applicable units.

Upon completing the degree, students may enter the profession through a wide variety of employers such as architectural designers and drafters. Opportunities upon entry into the Profession are varied. The current labor market index shows a 5-7% projected growth (depending on occupation) in SF Bay Regions from 2018-2023.
