This Associates of Science Multimedia with an emphasis in Digital Animation focuses on the 2D and 3D animation process used inthe entertainment industry and in multimedia production. Students learn to develop and animate 2D and 3D characters and otherobjects used in animations and in games. This degree prepares students to transfer to a four year program in digital animationand/or to secure an entry-level position as a Character Designer, a 2D/3D Animator, or a Visual Development Artist

Program Goal

The Digital Animation Associate of Science focuses on introducing students to the principles and techniques required to produce 2D/3D animation design and graphics for a wide variety of computer-generated media platforms and applications.  Using industry-standard technologies, the goal of the is to prepare students for Digital  Animation Associate of Science entry-level Character Designer, 2D/3D Animator, Visual Development Artist .  Interest in professional 2D/3D animation artists is currently being driven by several factors,including the on-going growth of the video game industry, additional cutting edge applications for digital motion graphics  and the continuing expansion of the general Los Angeles area tech industry, which serves as home to over 500 tech start-ups, in addition to major companies such as Google,Yahoo and YouTube. As the technology for digital visual communications expands its capacity to deliver diversified media content to its users, the demand for 2D/3D animation increases.
