Catalog Description

The eSports Business, Media, and Technology Certificate certificate prepares students to enter one of the fastest-growing industries in the world by providing both a theoretical foundation and hands-on technical training. This program introduces students to business, culture, and competitive gaming technologies while equipping them with practical skills for careers in eSports operations, event production, content creation, and team or league management. Students will also benefit from industry-standard equipment, professional software, and connections with local partners, ensuring they are well-prepared for emerging opportunities in the eSports ecosystem. This certificate requires 18 units. A grade of C or better is required in each course taken.

Upon successful completion of the certificate, students will be able to:

    Analyze the structure, economics, and cultural impact of the global eSports/gaming industry.

    Apply operational, teamwork, and management principles to eSports events and organizations.

    Demonstrate technical proficiency in computer and gaming hardware, software, and production tools.

    Create and manage digital content while evaluating ethical and legal considerations.

    Collaborate effectively within diverse teams and professional eSports environments.
