The Artificial Intelligence Foundations Certificate is designed to provide students with a fundamental understanding of AI concepts, applications, and ethical considerations in business and industry. The focus of the program is skill-building in AI literacy, automation, data analysis, and workflow optimization. Emphasis is placed on problem-solving, critical thinking, and the responsible use of AI technologies to enhance business decision-making and operations. This certificate prepares students for entry-level roles where AI tools are integrated into marketing, management, and operational processes. A minimum grade of C is required in each course. This certificate requires 12 units.

Program Justification
Approved by the Business Advisory Board. A 2023 Labor Market Analysis found that 60% of the top AI-related job postings were in non-technical business fields, and 80% of job postings for business roles now include AI-related skills. Employers are no longer just looking for basic digital skills; they seek professionals who can leverage AI for automation, workflow management, data analysis, and decision-making.
