The program is very strong academically with a core of science courses and hands-on laboratories. The intent of the program is to increase the students’ breadth and depth of knowledge relative to the discipline of Kinesiology and Health Science; to provide the opportunity for students to engage in scholarly activity that includes creative, critical, and analytical thinking; and to provide a focus of study that will enhance career commitment and allow for experiences that will lead to continued self-development and growth.

Goal of Program

CTE & Transfer

Include any other information you would like to share.
Solano College has had a vibrant Sports Medicine major and program for over 20 years. The local high school CTE programs have included Sports Medicine/ Kinesiology as a new area of study. We want to work with these programs and offer a place for these students to continue there passion and interest in Sports Medicine.
Please list similar programs at other colleges in the service area which may be impacted, including the name of the college, the name of the program that may be impacted, the name of the person you contacted and the outcome of that contact.
DVC Mike Chisar, we do not feel there will be an impact to either program.
