To be eligible for enrollment in the program, the student must meet the following criteria:

Be a registered plumbers and pipe-fitters apprentice.

Description:

This certificate includes the training for refrigeration to meet the Division of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS) Level Two guidelines for the refrigeration apprenticeship program.

Opportunities:

Refrigeration technicians are in high demand. The refrigeration industry is not able to hire the amount of employees needed to fill the work force and meet the needs of the industry. Students that are in this apprenticeship program are currently working in the refrigeration industry. 

Section 4: Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this program, the student will be able to:

demonstrate proper welding skills per industry standards. 

interpret blueprint drawings and welding symbols. 

demonstrate hot gas defrost operations.

demonstrate electrical defrost operations.

describe pump down systems operations. 

understand the EPA 608 certification requirements.
