This program guides students toward careers in law enforcement, the courts and the law, and state, local, and private corrections. The program provides students with an understanding of the correctional systems utilized by local, state, and federal levels of government. Students will explore the various career paths and hiring practices associated with jobs in the Correctional field. It provides a comprehensive overview of correctional facilities, community-based facilities/programs, probation, and parole utilized in the United States. To Achieve the Associate of Arts Degree: Upon completion of graduation requirements and the required degree courses with at least a ‘C’ or ‘P’ grade in each course, the student will be awarded an Associate of Arts degree.
10 students are projected to enroll in the Program. 7 annual student completions are projected.

1. Upon successful completion of the program, the student will be able to analyze the fundamental theories and concepts underlying the American correctional system.
2. Upon successful completion of the program, the student will be able to evaluate the operational elements of the major components comprising the American prison and Jail systems.
3. Upon successful completion of the program, the student will be able to analyze the legal principles and rules which apply to the American prison and jail systems.
