This Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) Certificate Program is designed for students wishing to further pursue a career in machining or manufacturing with an emphasis in CAM software such as Espirit, Fusion, and Surfcam. This type of certificate program typically leads to entry to intermediate level careers as a machinist, toolmaker, CNC operator, CNC programmer, manufacturing engineer, process engineer, field service technician as well as a number of other manufacturing/service positions. This certificate requires a total of 9 units. Both classes must be completed with a grade of C or better.

Program Goal

Outcome 1: Demonstrate the ability to organize and construct geometry of 3D model parts for machining operations to evaluate tool paths.

 Outcome 2:  Demonstrate proficiency in Surface programming by preparing numerical control programs for CNC machine tools to machine piece parts per drawing.

  Outcome 3:  Evaluate and select tools for the material removal process and toolpaths in the Surface program to produce rough and finish machining operations.
