Viticulture - Level 1

Submission Type

New Program

TOPs Code

Viticulture, Enology, and Wine Business (010400)

Projected Start Date

05/25/26

Catalog Description
Upon successful completion of the Viticulture - Level 1 Certificate of Achievement, the student will demonstrate basic business soft skills, understand the concept of Integrated Pest Management, attain introductory knowledge of wine grape production, and have an in-depth understanding of insects and their life cycles. These skills can translate into an entry -evel job in scouting or sugar sampling for farm management companies or small wineries.
Enrollment Completer Projections

According to Cal-Pass data, in the 2015-16 year, 60% of graduates obtained jobs in their field of study. No current data is available. Given that the program has undergone instability since then, and is under significant redevelopment, it is assumed that more robust data will be forthcoming in the near future. The program has a new faculty member who is ambitious and dedicated to student success in their agricultural careers. It is anticipated that as the program continues to demonstrate stabilized and steady development, data in these metric areas will show improvement.

Plant 10 and 40 have the same title? Credit and non-credit? "Entry -evel" in first paragraph
