Catalog Description

Web development has evolved dramatically over time to include highly complex and interactive dynamic web applications with a variety of services and functionality. Because of the underlying complexity of most websites, development work has been divided between two distinct functions, generating two types of web development professionals: front-end and back-end developers. A front-end web developer is a bridge between the designer and the back-end developer. The front-end developer builds interactive and responsive user experiences on the web by taking the final designs of a web application from the designer and coding them intofunctional bits of client-side front-end code. Students will learn how to develop sites using the three foundational languages that power the web: HTML,CSS, and JavaScript. Students will also be introduced to popular software development tools and design techniques that will prepare them for a professional career in web development.
