Networking Specialist (CCNA) A.S. Degree

The Network Specialist degree provides comprehensive training in network architecture, administration, and security. Students learn to design and maintain enterprise networks, manage Windows and Linux network environments, implement security protocols and access controls, identify common threats and vulnerabilities, and gain real-world experience through labs and projects that reflect current industry standards. This certificate prepares students for the CISCO CCNA industry certification as well as other certifications including CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, and CompTIA Security+.

The CCNA Program has been on pause for about 5 years.  However, it averaged about 150 completions between 2015-2020. We expect annual completer numbers to be 150. 

This two-year degree provides comprehensive training in network architecture, administration, and security. Students gain real-world experience through labs and projects that reflect current industry standards.
Individual Learning Outcomes (ILO):
•    Design and maintain enterprise networks
•    Manage Windows and Linux network environments
•    Implement security protocols and access controls
•    Identify Common Threats and Vulnerabilities
•    Prepare for the CISCO CCNA industry certification as well as other certifications including  CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, and CompTIA Security+.

Students completing this program will complete 18 units of GE courses to meet local degree requirements as well as the following major-specific courses: ITIS-10, ITIS-14, ITIS-16, ITIS-40, ITIS-51, ITIS-52, ITIS-53, ITIS-55, ITIS-60, ITIS-65, and selections from either ITIS-56 or ITIS-61 and ITIS-70 or ITIS-74.
