Logistics and Materials Transportation (051000)
05/17/21
Logistics is a rapidly-growing field encompassing the management of goods from assembly line to the end user. The Bakersfield College Logistics Management A.S. degree is primarily designed to provide formal training for careers in the following logistics related jobs: warehouse management, operations management, supply chain management; purchasing and contracting; and transportation management. Upon successful completion of the Logistics Management A.S. Degree, students will have the skills necessary to obtain an entry-level position in Logistics Management, or for career advancement, or to enable a student to transfer to a four-year institution to continue their studies in Logistics Management.
Based on the history of our first class Warehouse Management in Fall 2020, there was a lot of interest even though the students were given short notice. Some students had a conflict with the day and time because of prior class commitments. If each of these classes in the program were given the usual notice, then each class offered is expected to have 25-30 students enroll. If all six classes are offered each semester then total program enrollment will be150-180 students.
