Catalog Description

The Personal Wellness degree program provides individuals for careers in personal training, wellness, group fitness, or other related fitness professions or transfer to a bachelor's program in kinesiology, recreation administration, or other related majors. Courses involve active participation and lecture in exercise program development, nutritional analysis, fitness assessment, injury prevention, and overall well-being.

Program Goal

This program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed for entry level positions in the field of personal wellness including personal training, exercise programming, fitness and/or wellness coordinator. The sequence of courses in the certificate have been identified by industry representatives as providing students the opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills needed for these positions. The program is designed to provide students with knowledge and experience in general aspects of personal wellness. The A.S. degree in Personal Wellness also provides a transfer pathway for students interested in baccalaureate programs in kinesiology, personal wellness, recreation administration, and other related fields.
