Certificate of Achievement in Robotics
New Program
Engineering Technology, General (requires Trigonometry) (092400)
08/01/19
The Robotics Certificate of Achievement is designed to prepare students for entry-level technical work utilizing Computer Numerical Control (CNC) technologies.
This is a new program but estimates of 25 students earning the certificate annually are within reason.
Program Proposal Attributes
- Certificate of Achievement: 8 to fewer than 16 semester (or 12 to fewer than 24 quarter) units (B)
The Robotics Certificate of Achievement is designed to provide students with practical, career-oriented skills for technical environments using current industry technologies. Students receive hands-on experience in the fundamentals of AutoCAD and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) in addition to the basics of robotics.
The Certificate of Achievement is a Career and Technical Education (CTE) certificate designed for students who are interested in engineering but may lack the mathematical fortitude. It is also aimed to serve those in the community who work in technical industries looking to learn new skills.
Robotics Certificate of Achievement Goals:
1 – Provide a quality education that will prepare students to become entry level CNC mill and lathe operators and technicians.
2 – Prepare students to become successfully employed in the tech and manufacturing industry.
3 – Instruct students to become technicians to work with engineers and designers.
