The Law Enforcement Officer Reserve Certificate of Achievement is designed to serve students seeking either to enter or enhance their existing careers in the law enforcement profession. The courses in the certificate provide foundational knowledge for a person to enter the profession of law enforcement as a Level-III or Level-II Reserve Officer through the use of Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) approved training materials.
The college's POST approved Law Enforcement Reserve Academy has graduated approximately 32 students between 2019 and2022 (enrollments were impacted by Covid-19). Currently the academy has over 30enrolled students in this single class alone (the largest in recent years). The academy is now supported by an official website, social media,and email account,as enrollment is projected to increase in coming years.
There were a total of 1045 students enrolled in the Administration of Justice program during the 2019/20 academic year - a 7.8% increase in students (pre-pandemic enrollment decrease during2021/22). The Administration of Justice program consistently enrolls over 900students per semester. A total of 144 Associate of Arts for Transfer degrees have been awarded to Administration of Justice students during the past three years. Based on this information, completer projections of the program annually are approximately 35 degrees based on the residual impacts of the Covid-19pandemic.

The Law Enforcement Officer Reserve Certificate of Achievement is designed to serve students seeking either to enter or enhance their existing careers in the law enforcement profession. The courses in the certificate provide foundational knowledge for a person to enter the profession of law enforcement as a Level-III or Level-II Reserve Officer through the use of Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) approved training materials.
By the completion of the certificate the student will be able to:
1. Identify the procedures and laws involved in the justice system from arrest to release.
2. Analyze the importance of the inter-cooperation of all three parts of the criminal justice system.
3. Identify the importance of integrity in service for criminal justice professionals.

Program Learning Outcomes: By the completion of the certificate the student will be able to: Identify .the procedures and laws involved in the justice system from arrest to release; analyze the importance of the inter-cooperation of all three parts of the criminal justice system; identify the importance of integrity in service for criminal justice professionals.
The certificate program requires 17.5 units for completion; all units are required units.
