The Administration of Justice Certificate of Achievement prepares students for careers in a variety of criminal justice fields at the local, state, and national levels. The program is designed to instruct students on the principles of the federal,state, and local criminal justice systems. A comprehensive overview of the criminal justice system is provided through curriculum that includes the study of law enforcement, criminal courts, corrections, and the juvenile justice system.
All of the coursework for the Certificate of Achievement can be completed within one year (two semesters) with alternating offerings each semester. A cohort of 30 students are projected to complete this COA annually (two semesters of coursework). As the program grows, more sections of courses may be added each semester shortening the time to completion and increasing cohort size.
Program Proposal Attributes
- Certificate of Achievement: 16 or greater semester (or 24 or greater quarter) units (C)
The purpose of this Certificate of Achievement in Administration of Justice is to provide students with in-depth coursework for workforce preparation and promotional opportunities for those already employed in this field. The curriculum prepares students for careers in a variety of criminal justice fields at the local, state, and federal levels.
