The Media Arts: Web Design Certificate of Achievement provides a specific coursework in enabling the creation of visually rich websites with dynamic interfaces for a wide range of purposes. The certificate is ideal for students wishing to bring additional competencies to their workplace; to enhance their employability; or to seek entrepreneurial opportunities.
The proposed Certificate of Achievement offered in the Media Arts: Graphic Design program is expected to sustain an average of 4-5 completers annually based on the average number of Web Design Certificate of Accomplishment earners in this program over the last 5 years. Courses and course names have been updated based on new trends in the industry. As the Certificate is promoted on the website and in our brochures, that number will continue to grow.

The Media Arts: Web Design Certificate of Achievement is a CTE program that provides students with substantial foundational coursework, emphasizing basic HTML, CSS, User Interface Design, Responsive Web Design, and image editing skills that are needed in careers in web design and development.
This program is designed for students who desire specific training to meet an immediate occupational or personal goal, or for promotion or lateral transfer within their existing field of employment. To qualify for a Certificate of Achievement, a student must complete all courses required for the Certificate with an overall grade point average of 2.0. It is designed to support students who want to develop the creative and technical skills required for web design professionals.
Web development is becoming one of the hottest careers for developers who want to start earning a significantly higher salary in a shorter period. Companies are expecting students to graduate with knowledge not just to write code, but to design User Interfaces.

The COE LMI Report attached is for Computer Programming (0707.10) and Computer Software Development (0707). Employment opportunities with a Media Arts Web Design certificate may not exactly be the same as ones for computer programming or software development certificates
