Catalog Description

The Butte College Construction Program serves our community by providing diverse experiential learning opportunities in a progressive curriculum, using modern technology, industry cooperation, and alumni support to prepare students for a productive future in the Construction Industry. The program consists of an AS degree intended for transfer to neighboring Construction Management bachelor’s degree program and certificates of achievement designed to meet labor market demand for skilled tradespeople in construction. The curriculum is designed to provide students with industry-aligned skills within the main construction disciplines.

Enrollment Completer Projections

This program will have a cohort of 25 students per year and is a one year program.  These students will be eligible to receive an AS Degree in Construction Management, Certificate of Achievement in Construction Management and Applied Construction, and two small certificates, one in concrete and the other in framing.

Program Goal

Construction managers plan, coordinate, budget and supervise construction projects from start to finish in a growing nationwide field.   The Associate Science Degree in Construction Management prepares students to transfer into a bachelor’s degree program in the junior year of a 4 year program.  Our neighboring 4 year institution (CSU Chico) has a thriving and mature Construction Management program that we have modeled our curriculum on to ensure clean transfer of all students who complete this degree.  Students who chose Construction Management
