- Certificate of Achievement: 8 to fewer than 16 semester (or 12 to fewer than 24 quarter) units (B)
Program Goal
Goals: California State law for licensed children’s centers which enroll infants/toddlers requires the administrator and staff to complete coursework focusing on infants and toddlers.
State funded ECE programs in California require teaching and administrative staff to hold a Child Development Permit. The Master Teacher Permit level requires students to select a specialization area and complete two courses in that area.
This Certificate of Achievement will prepare students with the basic information regarding the overall development of children and details regarding infant and toddler development along with the basic principles for the field and specifics of programming in infant and toddler classrooms.
Objectives: This Certificate of Achievement will examine the unique development of infants and toddlers in comparison with the overall development of children.
This Certificate of Achievement will demonstrate how knowledge of the unique development of infants and toddlers is used to provide care and education for that age group within the context of the field of Early Childhood Education.
