Catalog Description

This certificate provides students with the fundamental knowledge necessary for starting a business. Students will learn how to create a business plan; work with computers and information systems; keep, use, and analyze necessary accounting statements with Quickbooks; and market their business for success.

Enrollment Completer Projections

It is expected that approximately 20 annual completer swill be awarded the certificate annually once the program is fully established.

Program Goal

This certificate provides students with the fundamental knowledge necessary for starting a business.

 

The goals for the certificate are for students to:

 

1) create a business plan,

2) understand how to use computer applications and information systems,

3) create,use, and analyze necessary accounting statements with Quickbooks, and

4) market their business for success.

 

The certificate specifically prepares students to enter the field of small business management.

 

Students are expected to be able to work at the college level but there is no selection process for admission.
